Mobile Computing

Not being one to keep up with the latest IT gadgets, I’m usually rather clueless when it comes to the ever growing lists of new products.  But out of necessity, I’ve suddenly developed a passion for tablet PCs.
As I would soon be going on an overseas trip and my current mobile is not web enabled, I needed a mobile PC which would be convenient to carry around.   In the not too distant past, netbooks were a good choice as it’s small and I had been tempted many times to get one just because I found them cute.  But the practical part of me knew I had little use of it and so had not given in to the temptation.
The earlier plan had been to get a web enabled phone during my next contract upgrade but unfortunately it would be a few more weeks before I’m eligible for the upgrade.  I need that phone really soon so the other option would be to get myself a tablet PC.  What helped to steer me towards getting one was the availability of 7 ” models which could easily fit into my bag and a huge discount on top of an affordable price.
Being new to such a device, I find them fascinating ….. a mini PC which could surf on wifi (as long as it’s available) and using bluetooth to tether to a web enabled phone (which unfortunately I do not have at the moment).  I’m having great fun getting acquainted with its functions and apps …. and I simply love it.
